Industrial and commercial gases have different purities when supplied. Along with these gases, there are impurities from other gases, which have small amounts and will not cause problems in many applications. If the gas is used in calibration or laboratory fields, greater purity is expected, and the higher the impurity, the greater the error in the test results. Xenon gas can be supplied with two different purity types.
Types of xenon gas purity

Grade 4 xenon gas with 99.99% purity
Grade 5 xenon gas with 99.999% purity
Xenon gas is non-flammable, colorless and odorless and non-reactive. The atomic number of xenon is 54 and it is in the group of noble gases in Mendeleev's periodic table. For the first time, English scientists named William Ramsey and Morris Travers were able to discover this element in the products obtained by distilling liquid air. Xenon gas is ineffective, but inhaling it in high concentrations causes suffocation. The density of this gas is higher than air. Xenon is one of the heavy gases and is found in the lower layers of the atmosphere due to its higher density than air. Just the opposite of helium, which escapes to the upper layers of the atmosphere.

The chemical formula of xenon gas is Xe. Its molecular weight is 131.29 g/mol, its boiling point at atmospheric pressure is -108.12 degrees Celsius and its melting point is about -111 degrees Celsius. The atomic radius of xenon has been measured around 130 pm and the electron capacity in its layers is complete. This is why it cannot enter into a chemical reaction with other elements and form a covalent bond. Various isotopes of this gas have been known so far, some of them are stable and others are unstable and have a half-life of several minutes to several days. When xenon is excited, it emits a beautiful blue light with electrical discharge.Applications of xenon gas
Xenon gas is used in some excimer and ion lasers, these types of lasers are used in medical applications, semiconductor industries and research. One of the main uses of xenon gas is the lighting industry. Sodium and mercury lamps, which are widely used in open spaces, are filled by pure xenon. Xenon is used in car lights, camera flashes, video projection lamps, football fields, etc. Xenon is used in the CAT scanner to scan the blood flow.Xenon gas mixture with methane is used for radiation detectors (ionization rooms, radioactive iodine detection in tumor laboratory). Chemical compounds based on xenon are used as fluorinating and oxidizing agents in some specific applications. Xenon is used to calibrate the mass spectrometer. Xenon isotopes are also used in MRI tracers. This gas has been used by the Europa spacecraft as well as the NASA spacecraft as rocket fuel for small ion engines to position satellites in orbit.Xenon gas production source
Xenon gas, like some gases, is a product of air separation factories. As we explained earlier, the initial discovery of this gas was done through the method of fractional distillation, and the discoverers of this gas and other elements of the noble gas group won the Nobel Prize for this reason. Xenon has a small concentration in the air, and for its production from air separation to be economical, the air separation plant must have a very large volume. During air separation, a mixture of raw xenon and krypton is extracted and processed after separate purification and distillation steps to produce pure xenon.Selling xenon gas
