Peanut peeling machines are made in three models: two, three and four channels. To use this device, the seed must be roasted and cooled before peeling.

Like all seed hulls, peanut skins have a high fibre content, but due to the presence of residual kernels and germs they can also be rich in protein and oil, although with a large variability due to differences between blanching processes.
Peanut hulls, not to be confounded with peanut skins (which are the thin paper-like seed coats enclosing the kernel), are a by-product of peanut processing.
