Extra Information

Medium-velocity burners are the burners that the POC (products of combustion) velocity from the burner exit peaks at 40 m/s. These burners are usually used in melting, steel preheating, and hot gas generators. Although usage of these burners is widespread, care should be taken while setting combustion parameters. One of the drawbacks is starting them with air pressure less than design pressure. This leads to POC velocity reduction converting the burner to a low-velocity type. Sometimes they are used instead of high-velocity burners, which eventually leads to non-uniform heating.

The available burner heads are refractory and Silicon-Carbide (SIC). The difference between the NAMGO and AMGO burners is the range of heat capacities that can be considered in the tables below. In these burners, if the Silicon Carbide (SIC) is used, the burner name changes to MG(O)SIC and it can be used for high temperatures up to 1400℃.
